If I had only known ... I would never have done it. If I had only known that after my abortion ... I would feel confused. Sad. Guilty. Angry. Betrayed. Ashamed. I would never have done it." Whatever pain you are experiencing, you are not alone. Many women are suffering as you are; some of us have worked through our heartache. We want to help you get your life back on track. You can't change what you did, but you can change how you feel. Join our post-abortion support group. Realize that you are not alone in your feelings Understand why you are hurting Learn how to resolve your bad feelings Put your abortion in your past and keep it there ABORTION HAS TOUCHED MOST OF OUR LIVES IN SOME WAY ... ... MAYBE EVEN YOURS Perhaps you have had an abortion Perhaps you have advised, helped, or pressured someone else to have one Perhaps someone you love had one without your knowledge or counsel Perhaps you have been involved in the abortion industry To some, abortion has become almost commonplace. For a growing number of others, abortion has become a personal tragedy. LEARN ABOUT WHERE TO TURN FOR HELP The Diocese of Rockville Centre invites you to participate in Project Rachel, a post-abortion reconciliation program. Project Rachel is a sensitive, private and confidential experience leading to, for Catholics*, the Sacrament of Reconciliation. You will meet with a specially trained priest who would be sensitive to your particular suffering as he listens and guides you toward the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Also available to you as part of Project Rachel is help from specially trained counselors and psychologists. Such counseling, before and/or after the Sacrament of Reconciliation, can help with unresolved conflicts. Project Rachel represents a way for you to receive the healing grace of God as well as officially welcoming you back to the Church community. It allows you, in a caring and hopeful context, to move toward reconciliation - with yourself, your unborn child, your family, your Church, and God. * Non Catholics can also participate in the counseling process and be referred to a minister or Rabbi who will help you in your journey to achieve an inner healing of the abortion experience. For more information about Project Rachel or referrals to a priest or counselor, please call: 1 (631) RACHELL (1-631-722-4355) 9:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday.
